| Difficulty System Progression |
|---|
|
With the Difficulty System you choose your personal difficulty tier: Normal, Hard, Insane, Nightmare, or Hell. Higher tiers make monsters stronger, but also increase your rewards.
Simple rule for rewards: |
| Tier | Reborn Required | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 0+ | Always available. Default gameplay. |
| Hard | 1+ | Unlocked after your first Reborn. |
| Insane | 2+ | Unlocked at Reborn 2. |
| Nightmare | 3+ | Unlocked at Reborn 3. |
| Hell | 4+ | Unlocked at Reborn 4. |
| How monsters upgrade Monster Tier |
|---|
|
Monsters start as Normal. A monster only becomes Hard/Insane/Nightmare/Hell when it is hit by a player using that difficulty.

Tier multipliers
Below are the general multipliers per difficulty tier. Higher tiers increase monster HP/Damage and also increase XP/Loot.

| Hard | x2.00 | x2.00 | x1.30 | x1.30 | Bonus rewards apply when the monster is at least Hard-tier. |
| Insane | x3.00 | x3.00 | x1.60 | x1.60 | Bonus rewards apply when the monster is at least Insane-tier. |
| Nightmare | x4.00 | x4.00 | x1.90 | x1.90 | Bonus rewards apply when the monster is at least Nightmare-tier. |
| Hell | x5.00 | x5.00 | x2.20 | x2.20 | Bonus rewards apply when the monster is Hell-tier. |
| Exclusive Loot Extra Drops |
|---|
|
On higher difficulties you can also get Exclusive Loot. This is extra loot rolled separately from the monsters normal loot. It is always bonus loot (on top of normal drops and on top of the loot multiplier will be adjusted once its live with feedback).

| Monster Icons Visual |
|---|
|
The icon above a monster shows the monster tier (what it has become because of player with the highest tier hits), not your personal tier. In parties, a Hell player can upgrade the monster, while lower-tier players still receive rewards based on their own difficulty. |
